We have universalized the idea of motherhood from ancient times as it is accustomed that women tend to have better motherly instincts than any other gender. But it’s the 21st century and it’s time to rise above these generalizations. Motherhood is a feeling, a responsibility, and an innate feeling of love and care but we have just restricted it to growing a baby in the womb and giving birth to it. Motherhood is a lot more than that!

Even the ancient chronicles of our oh-so revered folklores have professed this fact and are venerated through the ages for how Devaki was Krishna’s Birth mother but Yashoda brought him up and hence she is revered as his mother. Giving birth does not make you a mother but taking care of your child and standing beside them in every thick and thin is what motherhood is all about. Stepping into those shoes for your child or even for your fur baby is a difficult decision and we at Mr. n Mrs. Pet salute you for this.

From welcoming those little paws at home to feeding them to becoming a giant but cuddly baby, all pet parents, be it male or female, experience a wonderful journey. Your pet is no less than your baby and it loves you no less than your children or future children. Studies reveal that dogs do understand human emotions and can listen to what their pet parents speak. So giving birth to a child is not the only way to become a mother. A few weeks ago… a few members of the transgender community happened to drop by our office at Jaipur. During that conversation, we came to know that they were once parenting a Pug that had passed away a few months back. That pug was their baby and they were craving for a love like that. We empathized with their emotions and were deeply sorry for their loss. We offered our condolences and immediately knew that we could light a smile on their faces. 

A week later we invited them to our office by surprise and presented them with their new furbaby. They were elated and named him Raja. These smiles are what we at MMP work hard  for every day! Having a pet is like a joyful ride, you laugh together and sometimes cry together too. Gifting a pet to a pet lover is the best way of showing our love towards them. Spreading love and giggles across the nation is our mantra for getting better everyday. Here’s what our Transgender Family has to say about their experience. 

“The moment we saw him we decided we will call him Raja.Because he is going to rule all our hearts.We wanted a kid in our quarters but for obvious reasons we couldn’t have one, but then we decided to get a pup. He stayed with us for 3 years and became the blue eyed boy for us all. He would do his antics and we would all break out into a wholesome laughter. After a tiring day he would be the one to amuse us with his puppy eyes and silly stunts just to get our attention. We took shifts to take care of him during the course of the day. And he was no less than a child to us all. But it is sad how these beings become our lives but are gone too soon. It ached our hearts to see him suffer during his last days and took us all an eternity to overcome the grief after he passed away. And today Mr n Mrs Pet completed our family once again. We didn’t plan getting him but yes the best decisions are all sudden. Our Guru ma is going to be absolutely delighted to see this surprise. Raja is surely going to bring back the sunshine in our quarters.We are very excited to bring him up. He’s so tiny ! Ofcourse he will be he’s a pug!”- Yogita

Speaking of the LGBTQ community; they are kept aside in society and most of them live on their own and it's really hard for these prideful people to find work in a society full of prejudices and taboos.
