Life With A Dog- Changes This Paw Friend Brings In Our Life

You must have seen your friends, neighbours or relatives with their dogs and always wondered what difference does it make in their life. Then you finally get one and you realize that you paid only for a pet, but got a friend, a watch guard and a faithful being that is going to be with you for the whole of its life. Owning a dog is a very responsible and fragile task, but it comes packed with unconditional love and companionship. There are a lot of things that change for the better, once you allow a dog in your life. This is how we live the life with a dog.

Your House Becomes a Home

If you live with your family, you get a new member and everyone is trying to become this member’s favourite. If you live alone, there is finally someone to make that building feel like home. That puppy’s eyes become the cutest thing you have ever seen. Most of the times, you just sit there and look at him adorably as he learns to slowly adjust to the new environment.

In the beginning, his notorious attitude troubles you and at times you even regret the decision, but gradually you get used to it and find the same troubling things cute. He becomes your unpaid therapist and listens to you endlessly ranting about anything and everything. And the best part is that there’s always someone to welcome you home when you come back.

You Become Fitter

Your furry friend needs to go for a walk every day, without which he will become dull and lethargic. Therefore, you get an exercise buddy and your health also gets better. You make friends with other pet owners, so your social life too is on track again. And if you belonged to the type of people who say that there is no time to go for a walk, you now magically take out some.

Such is dog love. A walk of 30 minutes can reduce the chances of high BP, some cancers, and enhance your breathing rate. Also, exercising makes nap time better. If you’re tired, you will sleep better. Thus, it is just a complete win-win situation. Not only your physical fitness, but your mental health is also improved. Your depression and anxiety too come in check. Life with a dog is heaven.

Life With a Dog Makes You Empathic and Responsible

There is no denying the fact that animals teach us a lot. One can even learn from them while being close to nature; so when you live with one, you definitely improve as a human being. Your life with a dog also depends on how much you are willing to do for it. If there is a kid in your house that spends time with the dog, he is in safe hands (rather paws).

Dogs don’t speak our language, so you become good at non-verbal communication and consequently empathize better. Also, once you take care of any other living being (feeding, bathing and walking them), you learn to be more responsible. You become prudent at spending money as well since now you have a responsibility of one more life on you. These things influence your perspective about other important aspects of life as well.

You Understand Life

Seeing a puppy growing old to become your favourite “person”, and having a beautiful dog is a very personal and spiritual experience. This cannot be expressed in words as it differs from person to person.  Life with a dog is not the same as it was before.

You learn the little things in life, like how much difference a smiling face can make, and how without knowing each other’s language, your dog knows when to be goofy and when to just hug you. You start valuing your own life and the people that surround you. Your life becomes so intricately attached to this puppy’s life that before making any decision, you think about its effect on him.

Getting a puppy and petting him is no less than a roller coaster ride, full of fun and emotions. It annoys you, troubles you, makes it hard for you to get out of the home; but makes you happier the most. You get a brand new approach to life and everything suddenly becomes easier and bearable. So, if you haven’t got a pup till now, get one. Otherwise, you’re missing out on a very beautiful experience.
